Ninjago!

In our house it's all about Lego Batman, but for my nephew it's Lego Ninja, Ninjago to "get it right" as the kids would say. Since I had been looking for a reason to make Lego cupcakes, why not make some for my nephews Birthday. Happy Birthday Jacob!

Jack Party!

Jack Skellington and The Nightmare before Christmas. Anything that brings the joys of Halloween and Christmas together is the tops in my book. Being able to make these cupcakes in July, well it was like Christmas!

Bridal Shower

I kicked off my vacation from my full time job with 6 dozen cupcakes for a bridal shower. I don't do many events for adults so I was a little nervous about this one. The requests were for leaves, mums and fall colors. I was also told the bride was not a "girly girl" and she even had a chocolate diamond. With those things in mind, and an order for white, chocolate and red velvet cupcakes, here is what we came up with. I've been told they were a hit!

A Sample Order

A good friend of our family was sweet enough to recommend me for an upcoming bridal shower her daughter was involved with. Since the bride and her mom had never tasted my cupcakes samples were requested. To give them a nice assortment I made red velvet with cream cheese icing (my favorite), chocolate with buttercream icing and a lemon meringue cupcake. Since they were samples, I didn't go crazy with decorations, but none the less I still thought they were pretty enough to share!

A Central Pa Goodbye

So today we said goodbye to our district manager, Joe. Joe joined the Central PA team a few years ago, relocating from Jersey. To say it was a bit of culture shock for him would be a huge understatement. I remember his reaction to seeing a deer head on a neighbors wall, his attempt at camping... I could go on and on... So I had to give him a good bye that was everything he thought Central PA was... Farms, deer antlers...and the bugs just had to be thrown in there. The stories of his spider fears will have to be another entry.

Best of luck in Delaware, Big Fin.

West Branch Fair

When a friend ask me if I could donate some cupcakes to the school fair for them to sell at one of their booths, I was happy to help.  West Branch is a great school, and their fair is a great event.  I hope the cupcakes help with their fundraising.   Check out this wonderful school! http://www.westbranchschool.org/

A Despicable Birthday

Minions Assemble! Freeze Ray! Curse You Tiny Toilet!

Ah, I could keep going and going. Despicable Me is a favorite movie in our home, so when it came time for our home to celebrate a Birthday, Despicable Me seemed like the perfect theme! First up in the celebrations, Cupcakes for Alex's Preschool Class. I sure hope they love this cute army of minions.

Hunger Games

Once again I find myself faced with the task of making cupcakes themed around something I have no clue about, The Hunger Games. My knowledge is limited to the fact there are books, and now a movie. And the research I've done has only made me ask, what the heck is a Mockingjay!? But I guess the important part is not that I understand the subject, but that the birthday girl loves her cupcakes!

This Nest is for the Birds!

I love Robins Eggs. Next to Cadbury Eggs, they are probably my favorite Easter candy. When trying to decide what to make for Alex's preschool Easter party, I thought what can I do with eggs??? How about a nest? My mom always made chow mein noodle candy for Christmas, why not flatten them a bit and put some eggs in? Love it!!! Not to mention one of the easiest cupcakes I have ever made! Bonus!

Happy Birthday Hailey!

Today we celebrated my nieces 11th birthday with a fantastic pool party.  I was happy to volunteer cupcakes for the party.  My niece has out grown the theme parties, so I opted for some fun colorful cupcakes and threw in some cheerleading and softball stuff, 2 activities my niece loves.  They came out great, and it was cool getting my pictures at the actual event.

A New Business

A good friend of mine has started a new business as a Mary Kay Consultant, and she decided to have an open house to kick off her new business venture. When she asked if I could make her a few cupcakes the first thing that came to mind was the signature Pink Mary Kay color. I love how cute the little make up items turned out on the pink beauties.

Colorful Princess

When I was asked to make princess cupcakes I was thrilled, I never get to do girly stuff. Mom asked for some ideas for the birthday girl, so I sent home several ideas. I was quite surprised when she picked the fairly simple ones, and gave me her color requests and her selection of tiaras for the tops. As I was frosting the little cuties last night I found myself getting so excited over how great the colors are. I sure hope she likes them as much as I do!

Princess Pops

Since we didn't have the best of luck transporting the Tangled Tower Cones we decided to come up with a treat that was a little easier to transport to school. Enter Pretty Princess Pops. These colorful little ladies are just too pretty to eat ;)

Rapunzel, Let Down Your Hair

When I was asked to make these adorable Rapunzel's Tower cupcakes, I quickly said yes! First of all, they are adorable, second Tangled is one of my favorite Disney movies and third I had never done ice cream cone cupcakes....

As much fun as these adorable little towers were, they were equally as much a transportation nightmare! Transporting decorated cones is one thing, let alone when they are decorated on the outside of the cone. Needless to say these poor creations met a similar fate as the evil lady who kidnapped the princess and locked her in the tower... Ah, my first transportation disaster...

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Looking for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Turns out making the chocolate pots was more time consuming than I had planned...but never fear, we still have gold at the end of the rainbow...gold M&M's that is. I'm sure Alex's friends won't mind the missing pot when the dig into these yummy green velvet cupcakes.

Twilight

I must admit I'm probably one of about 6 women in America who has NOT seen any of the Twilight movies. My boss however I'm sure has seen them all a dozen times and has asked me almost as many time to make her Twilight cupcakes. Since today was my last day at her location I thought I would finally make her some cupcakes... Still having no clue who or what any of this is about...

Monster of Love?

Well, I'm not really sure what kind of monster this little guy is, but he sure is cute.  Cute is exactly what I was after for Valentine's cupcakes for Alex's Preschool class. I think they will like these fun little Love Monsters!

Operation Hunters Birthday

When Hunter's mom asked me if I could make a Camo themed cake for Hunter's birthday, I said sure.  When she sent me a copy of the invitation and the party had an army feel,  I thought, what says army to a little guy more than green army men?  I had to do something with them.

This Operation turned out to be a 2 part mission.  For the first part, i was sent a picture of some cute camo cupcakes and asked if I could make them for Hunter to take to school for his friends on his birthday. I think they turned out pretty cute (for camo, lol)

The second part was for Hunter's actual party.  I was told there would be 20 kids at the party, so I thought I better make sure there are at least 20 green army men.  So we added some cupcakes to the came, complete with Green Army men.  Coordination with a cake, topped with helmet and some army men ready for battle.

There's an App for That?

When I was invited to a surprise retirement party for a dear friend from AT&T, I naturally agreed to make cupcakes for the event.  But what to make? This wonderful woman dedicated almost 23 years to AT&T and the wireless industry, they needed to reflect her amazing career.  So many things have changed in the world of wireless since Darlene joined AT&T, I thought the biggest game changer of all was an appropriate way to honor her, the iPhone!

Thomas the Train

Well, I've never really done a lot with cakes, I seem to prefer my cake in a cup, hehe.  But I had a request for a Thomas the Train cake, specifically chocolate cake with oreo frosting.  Happy to make the flavor combination, I actually like how the oreos look speckled in the green, looks more like real grass or dirt.  Fearing the cake would not be enough cake for the party I added a batch of cupcakes wishing the birthday boy a happy birthday and giving the kids some fun Thomas the Train whistles to enjoy at the party!  Happy Birthday Connor, I hope its a great day!

Pit Stop!

The gang from Cars 2 is making a pit stop to help a special little boy celebrate his Birthday.  I hope these cupcakes make his day a victory.  Happy Birthday Bryce.
