The Globe!

Though my heart is in cupcakes, my bills require a full time job... I've sported the AT&T globe on my shirts for over 7 years now; I thought the time had come to see the globe in icing!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Today is my son's Preschool Christmas party, what says Christmas to a group of 3 year old more than Santa? I hope they like this jolly old man as much as I do!

A Little Holiday Spirit

Christmas is only days away, time to start spreading holiday cheer, by singing loud for all to hear. Okay, I'm not going to sing but I will make lots and lots of sweets including this batch of red and green fun on its way to a Christmas party in New Jersey.

Pug Cookies

Since I have not dared try my hand at pug cupcakes, I thought I would try some pug cookies. First attempt and first time using this particular frosting... It was a learning experience, but all in all not too bad I guess for someone who doesn't decorate cookies very often.

Snowball Fight Anyone?

They may not be cupcakes, in fact these cute snowballs are actually peppermint ice cream, cool whip & coconut! The sugar mittens made me want to go out and play in the snow! Such a cute way to eat ice cream for today's little holiday get together.

Santa Mickey

In honor of our Disney Themed Christmas I thought it would be appropriate for today's dessert to be Santa Mickey Cupcakes. Red Velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting made these cupcakes taste as good as they looked!

John Deere Green!

In John Deere Green, he wrote Billy Bob loves Carlene... Sorry, thats the song that has been stuck in my head since starting the darling little tractor cupcakes. I sure hope the birthday boy loves them!

Cake or Pie?

The commercial is rather annoying, but how cute are these little pies or cupcakes as the case may be?! I'm not a big fan of cherry pie or blueberry pie, but sign me up for one of these!

I don't often get to see Alex's friends enjoy my cupcakes, but I was able to join his class for their Thanksgiving feast today. It was so nice spending a couple hours with Miss Natalie and her great kids in the Space Room! They may not have understood what these cupcakes were supposed to be, but they sure liked them!

A Practice Run

I guess because I had nothing better to do (insert sarcasm here), I decided to practice a frosting technique I had never tried last night, 2 toned frosting.

I had some super cute zebra print liners and a good friend who was kind enough to watch my son this past week after I cut my finger and had to take a trip to the ER. Instant reason for cupcakes. I sure hope Lindsay likes her cupcakes and my 2 toned frosting. I think they are pretty, and since Alex doesn't do pretty it's not often I get to do pretty cupcakes.

Thanks again Lindsay and Enjoy your cupcakes!

Angry Birds!

Angry Birds!  Who doesn't love them?  I know I do, and knew most 7 year olds do too (heck so does my 3 year old); so when the opportunity came up to make some angry bird cupcakes I jumped at the chance!  A very sweet little lady was turning 7 and her amazing mom allowed me to make her a very special treat for her and her classmates.  I must say I think they came out great, and I hear they were a big hit!

Ratatouille??

Ah, Halloween!  Definitely one of my favorite times of the year.  This year my son went as Remy from Ratatouille.  Each year I have tried to make the cupcake treats for Alex's daycare coordinate with his costume, and this year I was puzzled by this idea for quite some time.  My first thought was to make a lollipop for the top of the cupcakes, which I attempted to do using a Mickey Mouse mold.  I thought they looked great!  My 3 year old, however, did not.  He very quickly informed me the lollipops did not look like Remy, they were Mickey Mouse and I colored him wrong!  Back to the drawing board I went, when I saw this cute rats in a cupcake book and decided to give them a go!  I made one grey (well more silver really) to symbolize Remy and one brown rate to symbolize his brother Emile. I then made mini cheese cupcakes for each of the kids, and the rats, because after all they were only trying to find something to eat!

Firemen!

I love these hats! My first batch of cupcakes for someone other than Alex; the Lairdsville Fire Department. These little fireman cupcakes were donated for the cake raffle to help raise money for the fire department. I sure hope we could help :)

Fun Monster Cupcakes

It seems as though becoming a mother has also turned me into a crazy cupcake lady.  Since the first party at my son's daycare I have been creating some fun & festive cupcakes for his friends.  I have been told many times, "you are crazy, they are kids they don't care what they look like!" None the less, the cupcakes continue and I am loving it more and more and Alex certainly loves mommy's cupcakes.

My most recent cupcakes were for a Halloween Party we hosted in our home today for some of Alex's preschool friends.  Being halloween it seemed appropriate for some fun creatures to visit in the form of a cupcake.  They were a big hit! I hope you like them as much as we did :)
